The Story of Navis

The story of Navis.

This is a story about the founders of Navis, Gene and Harvey, also the history of Navis. It can be traced back to 2006.
After graduating from University of Bath, UK, Gene made acquaintance with Kit Hobbday, the owner of Bear of Britain and then took part in Yacht Race Academy of UKSA. Meanwhile Harvey, studying in Newcastle, started to sail with some friends in Cowes, Isle of Weight.

Gene and Harvey were the only two Asian people in Cowes in 2006. They met in a local pub called Pier View, owe to one occasional chance, and soon became close friends. The two passionate and ambitious young men discussed sailing, life goals, future business and so on. Finally one day they decided to start up their own company. That is the beginning of Navis.

Much more story about Navis.

The goal of Navis is to provide affordable sailing clothing for amateur sailors and college students. Therefore, Gene and Harvey made every effort to cut the cost of creating a sailing clothing brand. The best way of doing this is to create a clothing brand to sell online. As for the design, they absorb the latest sailing clothing design in the world. For the process of manufacturing, they find the fabric suppliers from Hong Kong, Japan and Korea, and produce the product in China.

It has been 4 years that they started the story of Navis in UK. Since Gene and Harvey both have graduated from UK, their business is now currently based in Hong Kong. But thanks to the internet, they are able to sell goods worldwide.

Something better.

"It is unwise to pay too much. But it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money, that is all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing you bought it to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. It can’t be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run. And if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better."
